Kampung Berembang – 30 November 2006

In what turned out to be their last stand, scores of villagers battled the police to protect their surau from being demolished. The Ampang Jaya Municipal Council tore down the only remaining structure in Kampung Berembang in Ampang – a surau – but not before leaving the 30-year-old village looking like a battle ground. Eleven arrested.
